Businesses, non-profits, the city of Newcastle, community leaders, and individuals share ideas and solutions to help make our lives healthier - socially, economically and environmentally. Join us Saturday April 21st at Lake Boren Park from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Newcastle Washington -- The city of Newcastle, The Newcastle Chamber of Commerce and The Newcastle Weed Warriors present Newcastle Washington Earth Day 2012 at Newcastle's Lake Boren Park on April 21, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
"This event celebrates our community's love for the environment," said Grace Stiller, chair of Newcastle Earth Day. People come back to Newcastle Washington Earth Day event every year. "We have created a day that the entire family can enjoy - with interactive displays, music, children's events, mini-seminars, electric cars, recycling for metal and electrical appliances, blackberry munching goats and booths featuring green products and services by non-profit environmental organizations and businesses."
This year's event includes geoacaching - the real-world treasure hunting game where players search for hidden containers using GPS devices; and the interactive “Science in the Environment” display from the Pacific Science Center. The display will be hosted by the PSC staff, consists of 10 tables of engaging activities for both kids and adults.
The Boeing Employees Concert Band and The Gifted Program Rock Band as well as bands from local high schools will provide musical entertainment.
Food will be available for purchase: Vendors include Tuscon Stone Pizza and Tastyz Kettlekorn
